  • Vinton Family Movie Night

    The Village of Vinton and Keep Vinton Beautiful invites the community to its Friday Family Movie Night events throughout June and July. The events are on specific Fridays at Dr. Applegate Park, 436 E. Vinton Rd. behind Vinton City Hall.  Movies normally run from 7 to 10 p.m.

    The movie schedule includes "Frozen" on June 13, "The Avengers" on June 27, "Toy Story" on July 11 and "The Croods" on July 25.

  • CISD Board Proposes Meeting Date Change

    The CISD Board of Trustees has started the process to move its regular monthly meeting dates to the fourth Tuesday of each month.  When finalized, regular school board meetings will shift from the third Tuesday of the month to the fourth.  The change will become effective in August.

  • CBAC Members Needed 

    CISD is looking for parents, business owners, residents and civic leaders in the community who wish to serve on the Canutillo Bond Accountability Committee (CBAC).  CBAC is an independent committee charged with overseeing the proper completion of the $44 million bond voters approved in 2011. The committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss projects and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Interested volunteers are asked to complete the application and submit by email to greveles@canutillo-isd.org, or drop off application at the CISD Administrative Facility, 7965 Artcraft.

  • CISD Stands Up for Texas Public Schools

    The Canutillo Independent School District is proud to support the efforts of the Texas Association of School Board's "Stand Up For Texas Public Schools" campaign. The campaign aims to inform the public about the advantages of public education in the state. It also hopes to raise awareness about the important role public schools and public school districts play in our communities.

  • CISD Board Election To Be Held November 4, 2014

    The Canutillo Independent School District will conduct school board trustee elections on November 4, 2014. Three (3) At-Large Positions will be filled. The first day to file for a place on the ballot is Saturday. July 19, 2014. The last day to file for a place on the ballot will be Monday, August 18, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

  • CISD Board Approves Donations

    Canutillo Independent School District is part of a larger community of engaged and caring individuals and organizations. Each month, the Board of Trustees officially accepts donations to the District from education partners and other individuals interested in supporting our school communities.   • CISD Reading, Math STAAR Rates Increase

    More students in the fifth- and eighth-grades in the Canutillo Independent School District passed the math and reading portions of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) during the second administration.

  • CAFÉ Scholars Named

    The Canutillo Alumni Foundation for Education (CAFÉ) named the 12 students who were selected as 2014 CAFÉ Scholars. CAFÉ is made up of Canutillo ISD Alumni and Friends interested in raising funds to award scholarships to deserving graduates from both Canutillo High School and Northwest Early College High School. Students are selected based on their application packet, which includes a personal essay and a résumé, as well their grades.
