Health Science Technology |

Health Science Technology is a coherent sequence of courses designed for students to gain knowledge and skills needed by healthcare professionals. The health science technology career concentration offers a variety of science credit and elective courses which enhance the foundation curriculum. Students benefit by understanding the relationship between a strong academic foundation with health career emphasis and gain hands-on clinical experience utilizing the knowledge and skills developed during the course of study. In addition, students will have the opportunity to study and test to become a Certified Nurse Aide. This professional certification can be achieved prior to graduation from Canutillo High School.

Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA)
Health Occupation Students of America, a 100 percent health care student organization, is committed to helping its members become the best they can be. And given the current acute shortage of qualified health-care workers, HOSA has an even more critical mission: to attract career-minded, qualified students to the health care professions. Their mission statement sums up HOSA's mandate: "to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health occupational education students, therefore, helping the students to meet the needs of the health care industry."
