CHS Athletic Trainer Linda Duchouquette Receives Association Award

This is the image for the news article titled CHS Athletic Trainer Linda Duchouquette Receives Association AwardThe Sun City Athletic Trainers Association (SCATA) presented Canutillo High School’s Linda Duchouquette with the Manny Pacillas Award at their annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet March 26th, 2016. This award is given to a young athletic trainer that has been in the profession for 8 years or less. The recipient must be nominated by his/her colleagues, have contributed to the improvement of SCATA, and also promotes the athletic training profession.  

Linda started the pathway to her career in high school as a student athletic trainer at Eastwood High School where she studied under Leslie Beeman and Scott Smelser. She graduated in 2003 and went on to be a student athletic trainer at UTEP under Dawn Hearn. Upon graduating from UTEP in 2008, Linda went off to Texas Tech HSC in Lubbock and graduated with her Masters in Athletic Training in 2010. Since then, she has worked as an athletic trainer at EPCC, and as a substitute athletic trainer at EPISD.

Duchouquette is in her fifth year as an athletic trainer at Canutillo High School. She is currently completing her 4th year as a SCATA Public Relations Representative. Linda has helped with the SCATA Student Challenges, and the Annual Symposiums. She has been on the hall of fame banquet committee for several years and currently is the SCATA Scholarship golf tournament director.

During the month of March, SCATA celebrated National Athletic Training Month and promoted the importance of the duties that Athletic Trainers perform such as working to prevent and treat musculoskeletal injuries and sports-related illnesses.
