New Members Elected to the CISD Board of Trustees

This is the image for the news article titled New Members Elected to the CISD Board of TrusteesCANUTILLO, TEXAS – Two new members were elected to the Canutillo ISD Board of Trustees and sworn in at the regular board meeting Thursday, November 17, 2016 by the Hon. Gonzalo Garcia, a Canutillo High School graduate and State District Judge for the 210th District Court.

Trustees Annette R. Brigham and Blanca Trout are serving their first four-year term on the Board. They replace Leticia Gonzalez and Adrian Medina. Gonzalez did not seek re-election.

Ms. Brigham recently retired as associate superintendent from Canutillo ISD in 2016 after serving this district for more than 28 years. Throughout those years, Ms. Brigham served as a high school teacher, technology director, career education director, and principal at Bill Childress Elementary and Alderete Middle School. Her knowledge in education leadership and student accountability will serve the district well during her tenure on the school board.

Mrs. Trout holds an Associate’s degree in Business Administration and is a business owner. She also has a certified license in aeronautics from the National Aviation Authority of Civil Aeronautics in Mexico. Mrs. Trout is certified in adult, child & adolescent mental health and also holds certifications from the El Paso Behavioral Health System and UT Health Science Center focusing on children with disabilities as well as geriatric patients.

Trustees Rachel Quintana and Armando Rodriguez were also sworn in and will be serving their third and fourth terms respectively.

Also on Thursday, the Board reorganized and installed new board officers. Laure Searls was elected President of the Board. The Board also voted Trustee Annette R. Brigham as Board Vice President shortly after being sworn in to her first term and voted Trustee Rachel Quintana as Board Secretary.
