CHS Recognized with Top Honors at FBLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim

This is the image for the news article titled CHS Recognized with Top Honors at FBLA National Leadership Conference in AnaheimThis summer, Canutillo High School was the only El Paso area school to place at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California. CHS Sophomore Alonna Cannoy received national recognition at the FBLA Awards of Excellence Program in July by competing in MOS Word Expert 2013 and bringing home ninth place.

Norma Payan, Canutillo High School Business Education Teacher and FBLA Adviser is proud to put El Paso on the national map. 9,600 high school students from across the United States and abroad attended the FBLA National Leadership Conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 70 business and business-related competitive events.

The award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. CHS Senior Yuliana Ramos, FBLA Area II Vice President, also participated in the competition in Anaheim. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops and heard from motivational speakers on a broad range of business topics.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. is a non-profit student business organization with a quarter million members and advisers in over 6,500 active middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide.
