Childress students experience charrería for Hispanic Heritage Month

They participated in a centuries-old Mexican custom of charrería, an equestrian pageant similar to the American rodeo. Several Childress students are members of the girl’s equestrian team and performed with several other Canutillo students.

“Our children need to see their faces reflected in history because it makes a connection between them and the past, and it motivates our kids to start thinking about how they can also make a difference,” said Reyna Salcedo, Principal at Childress.
