The 9,000 square-foot facility will give students in CISD’s Agricultural Sciences Programs a facility that will include 3,600 square feet of open-air and other instructional spaces.

The facility also will include warehouse storage space and a 1,200 square-foot canopy.

District officials said that the facility will pay homage to Canutillo’s agricultural history.

“Having the facility at CMS will allow middle school students to experience the agricultural program at an early age and can continue the path into high school,” said Board President Blanca Trout. “The construction of this new facility demonstrates Canutillo’s dedication to the students and providing them with the tools and opportunities to expand their knowledge.”

Construction is expected to be completed in January 2019. Banes General Contractors, Inc. was chosen to build the facility.
