Testing

Message from the SuperintendentDear Canutillo community,

I hope you had an enjoyable holiday celebration last weekend.

It is that time of year when we annually recognize and reward Canutillo ISD teachers and staff who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence. I would like to congratulate all of our campus teachers and auxiliary employees of the year. What an honor! You are all true examples of what it is to be great educators.

All teachers have earned this distinction this past year. Each of you faced the health crisis with fortitude. Your efforts in serving students were not daunted by fear but were fueled by courage and your passion for teaching. Thank you all for your exceptional service.

Congratulations to Canutillo Middle School who has been accepted into the Amazon Future Engineer program in partnership with Project STEM! We are thrilled to have Amazon’s support as we expand our computer science program.

Parents, as we begin the STAAR testing season, we want you to know that we want you back!

Many students haven’t been in the classroom for one year. We strongly encourage all students, including remote learners, to attend their test sessions and work towards completing their graduation requirements. With these results, we can determine how well remote learning worked, were there any learning gaps, and develop a learning plan for your child next year. We take your student's health seriously and all campuses will continue to follow COVID-19 safety procedures and regulations.

It’s hard to believe that we are already thinking about next year. Although we are still waiting on the state to determine the mode of instruction and funding formulas for next year, we need to be ready for anything. We cannot forget that our mission is delivering the best possible education to our children. As a district, we are committed to using every resource necessary to keep kids moving forward.

Have a great weekend.
