Identification and Assessment Grades K-5

Elementary Gifted and Talented Program

Students in the gifted program participate in a Pull-Out program one to two times a week.  In GT class they participate in research based projects that provide many challenging learning opportunities.  The exact schedule for GT instruction will be posted at each campus.  Students qualify for GT services using a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures to include a non-verbal intelligence test, achievement test, portfolios, and parent/teacher observations.  The campus Screening and Identification Committee reviews and evaluates all of the screening criteria for each nominated student.

Kindergarten:  January 17-20, 2023
All kindergarten students will be screened.

Grades 1-5:  May 1-26, 2023
Nominations can be submitted April 10-27, 2023




Who should be assessed for gifted potential?

If your child exhibits gifted characteristics, you may nominate your son/daughter for the program.
