Improving Student Outcomes

On Monday and Tuesday, I had the privilege of participating in an intensive training session with our Board of Trustees as part of the Lone Star Governance (LSG) program, initiated by the Texas Education Agency. The training, which took place here in El Paso, aims to strengthen the way school districts like ours are governed, ultimately benefiting our students.

This exercise was conducted in close collaboration with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), an organization renowned for its expertise in educational policy development and implementation.

Worldwide traveling authors provide writing clinics for Canutillo & Alderete middle school students

Students at Canutillo Middle and Alderete Middle schools got versed in the proper prose and purpose of writing. AMS and CMS collaborated to bring visiting authors and educators Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger to help students understand the purpose and value of writing in the classroom.

4 Canutillo High School Students selected to serve on Texas’ 16th Congressional District’s Congressional Youth Advisory Council

Four Canutillo High School students have claimed seats at the congressional table. They will be joining other high school students from throughout the region in the Texas 16th Congressional District’s Congressional Youth Advisory Council (CYAC) organized by Congresswoman Veronica Escobar.
