COVID-19 Rapid Testing at CISD

To ensure a safe environment in all the schools and facilities at CISD, we began to offer rapid testing for COVID-19 for all staff and students as recommended by TEA and the EP Department of Public Health. Any student or employee who wants to screen weekly or who was exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual can test at any of our campuses*.

Any parent or guardian, who wants to have their child tested after an exposure at school or has symptoms will require a signed consent form and a QR code (Please register your child at to get tested at school by one of the certified members of the CISD Rapid Testing Crew.

  • Students: Please check at your school campus, what day and time are open for Rapid Testing. Bring your signed consent form and a copy of your QR on the day of testing.
  • Staff: Student Support Services is open for rapid testing, Monday – Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with Nurse Loretta Berumen or Dr. Maria Fuentes.

*Please note: As of 11/08/2021 CISD will no longer be doing contact tracing at our campuses or sending individual notifications to quarantine. In an effort to slow the spread of the virus, we will now offer Rapid Testing to all students and staff who would like to get tested after a campus/classroom notification of a positive COVID-19 confirmed case at the school. One day of testing will be offered per campus when there are less than 3 cases per campus AND 2 days of Rapid Testing will be available at each campus when cases increase to more than 3 at the school.
