Canutillo Independent School District’s Northwest Early College High School celebrated the largest number of graduates to date to cross the stage of the Don Haskins Center.

The NWECHS Class of 2022 is a dynamic group of 95 students who collectively raised over $15 million in scholarships, grants, and tuition waivers, and completed 8,354 hours of community service.

“We are excited to have the largest number of graduates this year,” said NWECHS Principal Jesica Arellano. “This class has demonstrated a strong commitment to not only their future by going after scholarships, grants and other means to pay for college but also to their community by always being willing to volunteer and serve. We are proud of each of our graduates and wish them the very best. Their futures are definitely very bright.”

One graduate from the Class of 2022, Ambar Galaviz has a lot to celebrate as she crosses this important milestone off her list. The newly minted graduate walked away with multiple offers of acceptance from various colleges and universities across the country and has received scholarships and tuition grants totalling over $1.4 million. She will be attending Carleton College in St. Paul, Minnesota, one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges to study journalism/international relations.
