Celebrating our A Rated Campuses

Message from the Superintendent Dear Canutillo Community,

I spent a good part of my Friday traveling throughout the District to honor those campuses that performed at such high levels that the Texas Education Agency awarded them an A Rating during this past round of accountability assessments. It was great to be able to visit our four A Rated campuses and furl out a wonderful banner that they’ll be able to proudly display outside their campuses to let the entire community know that high-level instruction is happening inside that school.

During my visit to Northwest Early College, Bill Childress Elementary School, Canutillo Elementary School and Congressman Silvestre & Carolina Reyes Elementary School, I was able to speak with students and teachers about their continued commitment to academic excellence. It was great to be able to tell them that their strong efforts were paying off and that the best is still ahead of them. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank these kids and educators for bringing such wonderful honor to our District.

Of course, academic excellence is happening in every corner of Canutillo ISD. That is why our other six campuses also will receive banners to display at their school. Their hard work helped us become the only Triple A Rated District in El Paso County and, of course, the Best Small District in Texas. These banners, once installed, will be a reminder to our community that our children are in good hands. They’ll also send a message to the rest of El Paso that Canutillo is setting the standard of excellence when it comes to education in our region.

In other news, I’d like to share with our community a link to our Canutillo High School 2022 Homecoming festivities. The Toy Story-theme for this year’s festivities is “To Infinity and Beyond!” You can visit the website here: https://www.canutillo-isd.org/news/what_s_new/chs_celebrates_homecoming.

As you can see, we will continue our tradition of having an amazing Homecoming Parade for all of our Canutillo Community to come out and celebrate. The parade is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21. The annual Homecoming Bonfire will follow the parade.

Of course, our Homecoming festivities will culminate with the big game at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, when the Eagles will take on the Parkland Matadors. The game will be at Julius & Irene Lowenberg Stadium. We hope you can join us!
