Students throughout Canutillo ISD helped to lift spirits and spread the message of hope by collecting and delivering Hope Kits to those currently battling breast cancer.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches! This year, the holiday tree’s branches decking the halls of the Texas House Chamber will be even lovelier thanks to the creativity of students at Congressman Silvestre and Carolina Reyes Elementary school.

Congressman Silvestre and Carolina Reyes Elementary School stands among the top-ranked public elementary schools in the country. The school is a 2024 Best Elementary School, based on rankings by the U.S. News & World Report.

Northwest Early College High School is on a roll when it comes to providing students with access to advanced placement opportunities. The campus has not only been named to the Advanced Placement (AP) Program School Honor Roll but is one of only six percent of eligible schools to earn Gold with access status.

A trip to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX to compete at the Fall Fandango Math Meet added up to major success for the Canutillo High School math team. The group took home first place in the Calculator Applications category.

Five outstanding Canutillo High School students are a few steps closer to their quest of earning a college degree from one of the nation’s top universities after being named finalists of the prestigious Questbridge National College Match scholarship.

Canutillo High School senior April Ruiz stood beside her poster, her heart pounding with excitement and nerves, as she prepared to present her biomedical research at the annual meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) in Seattle, Washington. The meeting hosted top researchers, field experts and student researchers from throughout the country, creating an intimidating yet exhilarating atmosphere.

Two Northwest Early College High School students are one step closer to finding their perfect match. Seniors Austin Camañez and Esmeralda Martinez have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Questbridge National College Match, a national program that connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to 48 of the nation’s best colleges.

When the Scherr Law Firm won a court settlement worth more than $10 million last year, lead attorney Maxey Scherr decided to take some of her commission and do something positive for the community. That settlement led to the creation of the Scherr Law Firm Internship and Scholarship Program for high school students interested in pursuing a law degree.
