Chief Jose Kluge has served the Canutillo Independent School District community since October of 2019. Prior to joining the District, he held many important ranks to include Detention Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and Deputy Sergeant with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office where he honorably retired after 20 years.
As a Deputy Sergeant, Kluge supervised the Patrol Section, Field Training Officer Program, Federal Grants, Criminal Investigations Division Civil Section, Criminal Investigations Division white collar crimes and Criminal Investigations Division Property Crime Sections.
At Canutillo ISD, Chief Kluge has been instrumental in the district-wide implementation of the Crisis Intervention Team program with a “whole child” approach and in supporting procedures and programs. He has demonstrated his ability to be a fearless leader and continually advocates for mental health initiatives. He is a proud graduate of the 251st session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia in 2012.
