Opportunity Academy

About The Opportunity Academy

The Opportunity Academy (TOA) is a dedicated computer lab designed to provide students with the tools, resources, and support needed to earn high school credit. Our program creates a flexible and structured learning environment where students can progress at their own pace while
staying aligned with academic goals.

Purpose of The Opportunity Academy

The Opportunity Academy aims to support our community’s students through a comprehensive credit recovery program. This alternative instructional model offers a flexible schedule, allowing students to work independently while balancing family responsibilities, employment, and other commitments.

Through TOA, students have the opportunity to:

  • Earn high school credits
  • Prepare for state assessments
  • Stay on track toward graduation

We are committed to providing educational equity for all students by ensuring access to quality instruction, resources, and support systems that meet diverse learning needs.

Instructional Approach

TOA utilizes Computer-Based Instruction (CBI) to deliver personalized learning experiences tailored to individual student needs. Students engage in independent coursework while being actively monitored and supported through a classroom/lab management system to ensure accountability and progress.

We implement the Edmentum (Plato) online learning system, a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state learning standards. This platform provides:

Our Commitment

The Opportunity Academy is dedicated to empowering students by offering an alternative pathway to success. By combining flexible scheduling, technology-driven instruction, and continuous monitoring, TOA supports students in achieving their academic goals while accommodating real-life responsibilities.

  • Standards-based coursework across core subjects
  • Self-paced learning modules
  • Immediate feedback and progress tracking
  • Instructional resources consistent with Edmentum guidelines
