Group of CISD Teachers Selected for Inaugural Innovative Educator Fellowship

Candice Dominguez, Valeria Marivani, Alma Ramos, Marina Rubio, Michelle Shiroma and Claudia Stafford from Congressmen Silvestre and Carolina Reyes Elementary School together with Celeste Trejo Garcia from Northwest Early College High School are CISD teachers part of the inaugural cohort of educators selected throughout the region to take part in the Innovative Educator Fellowship supported by CREEED, El Paso Community Foundation, and Philosophic Systems Institute.

The year-long paid fellowship was developed for teachers with a growth and learning mindset who are eager to challenge preconceived beliefs and practices in education.

The cohort will spend a half day together on a monthly basis, reflecting, and participating in a co-design process of innovation in learning to develop innovative and effective transformational learning experiences for their students, classrooms and schools.

“It is great to see so many of our teachers selected to take part in this regional fellowship that will allow them to continue to make a positive impact in their classrooms by learning new and creative ways to teach and engage students,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz. “This is a wonderful opportunity for them to build upon their innovative teaching techniques and gain new insight to keep learning fresh in the triple-A rated District.”
