"It is such an honor to be recognized by my peers for my work in making computer science accessible and equitable,” Tabor said. “Computer science is for all students and I believe that a small part of the ongoing success of our students is due to the problem solving and critical thinking skills that computer science provides, regardless of their future career paths."

Tabor was selected for her ability to demonstrate excellent work inspiring students to explore the computer science field; effectively engaging students in learning rigorous, standards-aligned, computer science content; and a focus on broadening the participation of underrepresented students in computing.

“We are very proud of Ms. Tabor and privileged to have her as a teacher at NWECHS to share her wealth of experience and knowledge with our students to inspire them to pursue careers in computer science when they may have otherwise not had the exposure to what this field has to offer,” said NWECHS Principal Jesica Arellano. “Our students have been and continue to be very successful in grasping computer science concepts and skills and are thriving under the guidance and teaching of Ms. Tabor.”
