The Canutillo High School Class of 2023 took their final flight as Eagles across the stage at the University of Texas at El Paso’s Don Haskins Center. With diplomas in hand, 387 graduates bid farewell to their high school career welcoming the next phase of their lives soaring with possibilities.
The CHS Class of 2023 is off to a good start having garnered scholarships totaling $60,848,907 towards their higher education and a total of $1,415,535.00 in federal student aid grants.
“The future looks bright for this talented group of students about to begin their college or professional careers,” said CHS Interim Principal Candice Marrufo. “They have spent the past four years as proud Eagles gathering the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and make their mark on the world and in the end have shown great motivation in applying for grants and scholarships to help them reach their goals. I wish them all the best of luck.”
The graduating class included a few stand-outs who hit the scholarship jackpot and those accepted into top colleges and universities.
Zoe DeAnda represented the graduating class as valedictorian and was awarded the UTEP Presidential Scholarship of $32,000 to pursue her degree in nursing.
