Canutillo alumni soccer game unites generations of Lady Eagles

Under the lights at Coach Julius and Irene Lowenberg Eagles Stadium, generations of Lady Eagles laced up their cleats once again to take the field in the first-ever Canutillo Alumni Soccer Game.
Organized by members of the Class of 2016, the event was meant to bring everyone back together to relive old memories and celebrate the sport that helped shape their years at Canutillo High School. What began as a small idea among friends quickly turned into a full-scale reunion that drew a crowd far larger than anyone expected.
With the support of longtime head coach Jessica Woodruff, the night became a living snapshot of Canutillo’s proud soccer legacy. Her very first varsity squad from the 2010–2011 season returned, joined by players representing the Classes of 2012 through 2018. Some alumni came from even further back, including one player from the Class of 2000, eager to reconnect and take part in the celebration.
Former teammates shared the field once more, exchanging high fives and smiles as the game unfolded with a mix of intensity and laughter. For many, the game was about more than soccer. It was about community and the friendships built over years of practices, long bus rides, and shared victories. Each pass and play became a reminder of what it meant to wear the Eagles crest and represent their school with pride.
By the end of the night, it was clear there were no losers. The only score that mattered was the unity displayed on the field and in the stands. The event rekindled a sense of belonging and highlighted the lasting bond shared by Canutillo athletes across generations.
