Canutillo ISD Public Information Office earns state school PR honors
Canutillo ISD earned 11 Gold Star Awards, 3 Silver Stars Awards and 1 coveted Best in Category Award for promotional and branding work performed and published during the 2023-24 school year.
The Star Awards recognize the best school public relations work done by school districts. Awards are given for writing, photography, graphic design, video production, digital work, branding and marketing.
“It is an honor to tell the stories of the students and teachers of the Canutillo Independent School District, and to have those stories bring more recognition to the amazing things happening in this corner of Texas,” Canutillo ISD Director of Communications Gustavo Reveles said. “The work the Public Information Office produces is top quality, and it reflects the level of commitment that exists at all levels in the District.”
The District received Gold Star Awards, the highest rated award in each category, for the following work:
- “Officer Christopher Reporting for Duty” in the Feature Video Category.
- “Veteran’s Day” in the Original Art Category
- “Canutillo High School freshman to walk the runway during New York Fashion Week” in the Published News or Feature Category
- “Valentine’s Day Stories of Canutillo’s enduring Love” in the Published News or Feature Category
- “Depth” in the Original Art Category
- “Kicking off Registration” in the Original Art Category
- “Superintendent Evaluation Document” in the Program Category
- “Christmas Card” in the Holiday/Greeting Card Category
- “Canutillo High School counselor embarks on USS Abraham Lincoln adventure” in the Published News or Feature Category
- “Father’s Day” in the Original Art Category
- “New Employee Badge” in the Original Art Category.
Silver Stars, the second highest-rated award, were given for the following work.
- “3D printing partnership with UTEP helps Davenport special education students” in the Published News or Feature Category
- “Canutillo High School senior receives U.S. Navy ROTC full-ride scholarship” in the Published News or Feature Category
- “Pride” in the Original Art Category
The District earned a coveted Best in Category Award – the best in show category – in Published News Writing for the “Valentine’s Day Stories of Canutillo’s enduring Love.”
