Homecoming parade once again brings Canutillo community together

For a few precious hours Wednesday evening, the rain gave Canutillo High School a break and allowed a beloved Canutillo tradition to roll on.
More than 70 marching units and floats made their way through the community for the annual Canutillo High School Homecoming Parade, bringing students, teachers, families and supporters together to celebrate Canutillo Pride.
Along the parade route, friendly faces lined the streets, waving and cheering as our students, staff and supporters marched past. Their smiles, signs and enthusiastic greetings were a reminder of the strong connection between our schools and the community we proudly call home.
Mother Nature eventually had other plans. Thunderstorms moved into the area following the parade, forcing the cancellation of the Community Pep Rally for the safety of students, families and guests. But even as rain and lightning rolled across the area, the spirit of Canutillo Pride remained on full display.
For our students, the parade was more than a procession. It was a chance to see their community come together and celebrate them, their schools and the traditions that make Canutillo special.
We are grateful to everyone who came out to support our Eagles and helped make Wednesday evening another memorable chapter in Canutillo’s Homecoming tradition. Despite the weather, the message was clear: Canutillo Pride shines through, rain or shine.
See you at the homecoming game between the Canutillo Eagles and Horizon Scorpions at 7 p.m. on Friday at Coach Julius & Irene Lowenberg Eagles Stadium. Go Eagles!
