District Science Fair

The Canutillo ISD Science Fair brought together the district’s top third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade scientists and investigators for a day filled with curiosity, creativity, and hands-on STEM excitement. More than 100 student projects lined the room, each representing hours of questioning, testing, analyzing, and discovering. From engineering challenges to scientific investigations, our young scholars showcased just how bright the future of STEM is in Canutillo.
After careful judging, three Grand Champions rose to the top in their grade levels. They are:
- Third grader Santelli Arrieta from Congressman Silvestre & Carolina Reyes Elementary School earned top honors for her project, “How Does Piano Sound Affect a Falling Paper Airplane?”
- Fourth grader Giovani Mora from Childress Elementary School impressed judges with “Magnet Power.”
- Fifth grader Emma Esparza from Canutillo Elementary School claimed the Grand Champion title for her project, “Handle with Care.”
In addition to the Grand Champions, dozens of students earned Sweepstakes awards for scoring 90 percent or higher — an incredible accomplishment that speaks to the depth of talent across our district.
