Northwest Early College High School makes Educational Results Partnership’s 2024 Honor Roll

The accolades keep rolling in for Northwest Early College High School (NWECHS), further solidifying its position as one of the nation’s top performing campuses.

NWECHS has been recognized on the Educational Results Partnership’s (ERP) 2024 Honor Roll. This latest distinction highlights the campus’ consistent high performance in student achievement and its commitment to closing achievement gaps among diverse student groups.

“This recognition reflects NWECHS’s unwavering commitment to providing students with rigorous academic opportunities and preparing them for future success in higher education and their careers,” said NWECHS Principal Frank Clark.” 

The ERP Honor Roll is a prestigious program that identifies top-performing schools in Texas based solely on student achievement outcomes. It acknowledges schools that demonstrate high levels of academic excellence and improvement over time. Schools on this list exhibit consistent student success across multiple measures, including standardized test scores and readiness for college and career pathways.

NWECHS joins fellow Canutillo ISD campus, Congressman Silvestre & Carolina Reyes Elementary School, which also earned a place on the ERP Honor Roll roster. Including the pair of Canutillo ISD campuses, this year 762 schools in Texas made the Honor Roll. This is approximately 12 percent of all eligible schools in the state. Results are based on data of student outcomes on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) from 2022 through 2024.

The Honor Roll is part of a national campaign to engage business leaders in recognizing successful schools and educational systems that are preparing students with the fundamental skills needed to be successful in the workforce and in life. The program is the only school recognition program based solely on objective student achievement data with the goal being to find and highlight successful schools and encourage collaboration among educators on best practices for raising student achievement.

NWECHS has garnered numerous accolades, underscoring its status as a leading educational institution both in Texas and nationally. Notably, the school was named a Platinum School on the 2024 AP Honor Roll by the College Board, placing it among a select group recognized for expanding access to Advanced Placement courses while maintaining high performance.

Additionally, the National Center for Urban School Transformation honored NWECHS as one of 2023 America’s Best Schools, highlighting its exceptional academic achievements despite having no academic criteria for admission. Remarkably, most students at NWECHS graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate of arts degree.
