4 Canutillo ISD elementary schools ranked best in the state
Canutillo ISD elementary schools are simply the best!
Four of the six elementary schools in Canutillo ISD are among the best in the United States, according to a ranking of top-performing campuses by U.S. News & World Report magazine.
According to the publication, Canutillo, Childress, Davenport and Reyes elementary schools are recognized as among the “Best Elementary Schools” in the country based on student performance data.
“This recognition speaks to the dedication of Canutillo ISD’s educators and staff, who work tirelessly to create supportive, engaging and high-achieving learning environments,” said Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz. “With a focus on academic rigor, student support and enrichment opportunities, each of these four schools exemplifies Canutillo ISD’s mission to empower every child to succeed.”
The list includes campuses that are considered to be among the top 40 percent of elementary schools in Texas using factors like test results, academic performance and other contributing factors to student success.
The 2025 Best Elementary Schools rankings include publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education. For district-level rankings, at least two of the top performing schools must rank in the top 75% of the overall elementary rankings to qualify for district-level recognition.
This accomplishment underscores Canutillo ISD’s place as a leader in education in the region and reflects the district’s commitment to providing a quality education that meets state standards and goes beyond to help students achieve their full potential.
“Canutillo ISD continues to show the rest of the region why we are the ONLY Triple A Rated school district in the region and The Best Small School District in Texas,” Galaviz said. “Despite the state-created financial woes placed on districts throughout Texas, our students show resilience and grit in making sure they meet their academic and life goals.”
