Canutillo High School Flight Dance Company co-captain Isabel Contreras sashayed her way onto the state center stage as she represented her campus at the 2025 Texas Dance Educators’ Association (TDEA) Convention in Houston.

Performers at the TDEA are composed of All-State dancers representing schools from across the state who have demonstrated extraordinary ability and leadership. Those selected as All-State dancers participate in a convention experience that includes dance workshops, leadership training, master classes and networking with other students.

“We are very proud of Isabel for her hard work and dedication that paid off with a performance that represented her campus and region beautifully,” said CHS Principal Candice Marrufo.

The CHS senior was able to further hone her skills as a dancer during her time spent at the convention by learning from a variety of dance professionals and other top dancers from high schools across the state.

“It was a proud moment to see Isabel capture the audience with her performance at this year’s Texas Dance Educators’ Association Convention,” said CHS Flight Dance Company coach Luis Llanes. “It is my hope that Isabel took the most she could gain from this wonderful opportunity and use it to continue to build on her immense talent.”
