Canutillo ISD Announces Spanish Spelling Bee Winners

Canutillo ISD crowned its top young Spanish spellers during the district’s annual Spanish Spelling Bee held last week, with students from across the district showcasing their language skills and earning top honors.

Destiny Hernandez from Canutillo Elementary School took first place in the kindergarten through first grade category, followed by Sofia Ang from Reyes Elementary and Angel Ibarra, also from Canutillo Elementary.

In the second through third grade division, first place went to Caleb Guardado of Bill Childress Elementary. Montserrat Delgado of Davenport Elementary placed second, and Naphtali Hernandez of Damian Elementary came in third.

Reyes Elementary School’s Sophia Valdez took the top spot in the fourth through fifth grade division and will advance to regionals. Constanza Garcia, also from Reyes Elementary, placed second, and Carlos Bustamante from Childress Elementary earned third place.

In the sixth through eighth grade category, Alderete Middle School swept the podium. Montserrat Vargas claimed first place and a spot at the regional competition, followed by Mario Jacobo in second and Luis Carlos Moran in third.

Canutillo ISD congratulates all participants and wishes its advancing students the best of luck at regionals.

Canutillo ISD Anuncia a los Ganadores del Concurso de Deletreo en Español

El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Canutillo celebró su Concurso Anual de Deletreo en Español la semana pasada, reconociendo a los mejores estudiantes en ortografía de todo el distrito.

En la categoría de kínder a primer grado, Destiny Hernández de la Primaria Canutillo obtuvo el primer lugar. El segundo lugar fue para Sofía Ang de la Primaria Reyes y el tercer lugar para Ángel Ibarra, también de la Primaria Canutillo.

En la división de segundo a tercer grado, Caleb Guardado de la Primaria Damián ganó el primer lugar. Montserrat Delgado de la Primaria Davenport ocupó el segundo lugar, y Naphtali Hernández de la Primaria Damián se llevó el tercer puesto.

En la categoría de cuarto a quinto grado, Sophia Valdez de la Primaria Reyes se coronó campeona y avanzará a la competencia regional. Su compañera Constanza García obtuvo el segundo lugar y Carlos Bustamante de la Primaria Childress quedó en tercer lugar.

En la categoría de sexto a octavo grado, la Secundaria Alderete dominó el podio. Montserrat Vargas obtuvo el primer lugar y representará al distrito en la competencia regional. Mario Jacobo se quedó con el segundo lugar y Luis Carlos Morán con el tercero.
