Students with a Medical or Conscientious Exemption

Without the proper documentation of required vaccinations or a valid medical or conscientious exemption, students will not be allowed to attend school. An original Conscientious Exemption Affidavit must be on file with the student’s school and is valid for two years. A Medical Exemption Letter must be obtained from a licensed medical provider and is valid for one year unless the letter states that the medical exemption is life-long.

If there is a confirmed case of any vaccine preventable disease in the Canutillo District, your child will be required to be excluded from school attendance for a prescribed amount of time. This is done to protect the health of any unvaccinated students at risk for contracting a disease. We are committed to the health and safety of your child.

If you are unsure of where or whether your child can receive vaccines, contact your healthcare provider, local health department or school nurse. For further information concerning the district’s procedures, please visit the district website www.canutillo-isd.org in the Parent Section.

We wish you a rewarding and productive school year!
