Carolina Ortega, Trustee
Carolina Ortega was elected to the Canutillo ISD Board of Trustees in November 2024 to serve a four-year term. A devoted mother of four and wife of a Canutillo ISD alumnus, Ortega has been an active volunteer in the district for many years. Her family has deep roots in the Canutillo community, with many of her nieces and nephews also graduating from Canutillo schools.
She and her husband are small business owners and have opened their hearts and home to dozens of children as foster parents in El Paso. Their work as a foster family has allowed them to care for many children in need during difficult times.
A passionate advocate for her community, Ortega has served on several Canutillo ISD committees, including the CISD School Health Advisory Council and the Childress Elementary PTO. She is also an active member of her church, where she volunteers her time with youth programs.
Ortega is a proud graduate of New Mexico State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education.
