This is the image for the news article titled Message from Board President Patsy Mendoza - Nov. 10Dear Canutillo familia,

Canutillo ISD this week played host to a group of educators from every corner of the state who were in town as part of the innovative Leadership TASB, a program from the Texas Association of School Boards. As the School Board President, it was a moment of immense pride to showcase the incredible initiatives and achievements that make our district a beacon of educational excellence.

Leadership TASB, a program that gathers trustees from various districts across the state to explore and learn from exemplary public school systems, made its way to Canutillo for the third time in its history. It was an incredible opportunity to present the exceptional work being done in our schools and to receive affirmation and support from distinguished figures in the field of education.

Throughout their visit, the Leadership TASB delegates had the chance to delve into the innovative and impactful programs that define Canutillo ISD. They learned about our groundbreaking Montessori program at Garcia Elementary, experiencing firsthand the nurturing and student-centered learning environment that empowers our young learners.

Moreover, our visitors engaged with students from all three of the Academies at Alderete Middle School, witnessing the enthusiasm, dedication, and remarkable skills cultivated within these specialized educational pathways. The interaction with the emerging professionals at the Law Enforcement P-TECH program at Canutillo High School provided a glimpse into the hands-on training and educational opportunities preparing our students for successful careers.

The dialogue and exchange of ideas during their brief visit were incredibly enriching, and it was truly heartening to receive words of encouragement and appreciation from these influential individuals in the education sector. The recognition of the hard work and dedication of our educators, staff, and students was a testament to the collective efforts and commitment towards excellence within our district.

While the visit was an invaluable opportunity to showcase some of the extraordinary programs in our schools, it is regrettable that time constraints prevented the Leadership TASB group from experiencing the entirety of our diverse and outstanding initiatives. Our district takes immense pride in being recognized as the Best Small District in Texas and as El Paso's only Triple A Rated School District, accolades that reflect the dedication and success of our entire educational community.

The desire to share more of our exceptional programs and achievements was palpable, as these initiatives collectively contribute to the holistic development and success of our students. It is our commitment to continue fostering an environment of innovation, excellence, and inclusivity within our district.

As we move forward, we remain committed to furthering our mission of providing a world-class education to every student in our district. The support and recognition from such esteemed individuals only serve to reinforce our determination to continue striving for excellence and ensuring the success of every student in our care.

Thank you to everyone involved for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the success of Canutillo ISD.

A quick reminder that the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14. We hope to see you there as we discuss important issues impacting our schools and students.

¡Un fuerte abrazo!

Patricia Mendoza
