Canutillo ISD participated in Toys for Tots, the annual program run by the U.S. Marine Corps to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them to less fortunate children in the community.

Collection bins were set up at Canutillo High School and the Canutillo community showed up to make sure no child was left without this holiday season. Marines stopped by the campus on Monday to pick up the haul.

“We were excited to support Toys for Tots and host the collection bins at our campus,” said CHS Principal Teresa Clapsaddle. “Our community, staff and students were extremely generous in their giving and we were happy to turn over a few full bins of new toys to provide to kids in our community.”

The primary goal of Marine Toys for Tots is to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children through the gifting of a new toy. This holiday season marks the 75th anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Since its inception, the program has supported 281 million children and provided 627 million toys nationwide.
