This is the image for the news article titled Message from Board President Patsy Mendoza - Sept. 8Dear Canutillo familia,

One of my favorite events of the year is the annual Canutillo High School Homecoming Parade. This year, the parade took place on Wednesday, and as always, I was happy to see our community turn out in droves! The Board of Trustees was genuinely elated to participate in this year's Homecoming Parade, and we made it extra special by collaborating with dedicated Canutillo ISD alumni to create a fantastic float. This partnership serves as a testament to the enduring connection between our alumni and current students, symbolizing unity and the indomitable spirit of our community.

The Homecoming Parade received remarkable participation, with more than 50 floats and marching units registered – one of the latest in Canutillo's history! Beginning at Canutillo Elementary and winding its way down Doniphan Drive, traversing the heart of our beloved town, the parade exuded an undeniable energy that reverberated throughout our community.

The theme for this year's parade, "Unite the World," was thoughtfully chosen to promote better understanding and harmony among diverse cultures. It is a poignant reminder of the invaluable diversity that enriches our community, emphasizing the significance of coming together as one cohesive whole.

As we approach the upcoming Homecoming game on Friday night, set to be held on the Orange & Blue Turf of the Julius & Irene Lowenberg Stadium, our entire community is ablaze with anticipation. We stand united in our unwavering support for the Canutillo Eagles, eagerly anticipating a triumphant victory. Our beloved Eagles exemplify the spirit, tenacity and determination that captures the essence of Canutillo.

In the days leading up to this exhilarating event, let us collectively recall the core values that unite us – pride, unity, and resilience. The Canutillo Independent School District Board of Trustees takes immense pride in serving our remarkable community, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering exceptional educational experiences for our students. We are profoundly grateful for the steadfast support and dedication that you, our community members, provide.

Thank you to all who played a role in making this year's Homecoming Parade a resounding success. Whether you have participated as volunteers, participants or enthusiastic spectators, your involvement embodies the strong spirit that characterizes Canutillo.

As we unite to celebrate this cherished tradition, let us remember our rallying cries: Go Eagles and Viva Canutillo!

¡Un fuerte abrazo!

Patricia Mendoza
