CANUTILLO, TEXAS (August 18, 2014) – Voters in the Canutillo Independent School District will pick from among six people when they head to the polls in November to select members to the CISD Board of Trustees.
Election Day is Nov. 4, with early voting happening from Oct. 20 to 31. Early voting sites will be determined at a later date.
The six candidates that will vie for the three at-large positions on the Board of Trustees are:
- Incumbent Laure Searls
- Mary Yglesias
- James Tidwell
- Miqueas Gomez
- Stephanie Frietze
- Frank Lerma
Two incumbents, Sergio Coronado and Patsy Mendoza, will not seek re-election.
Canutillo school-board members serve four-year terms on staggered terms. In 2006, CISD changed its elections calendar to November from May in an effort to increase voter participation.
